About

Once I had a history professor that had a passion for the past.  Unlike the countless other history teachers, this person endeavored to build a connection between us and our history.  Rather than mandate we memorize pages of dates, he unfolded historical events in a way that we could relate to.

Likewise, the few people I know who collect antiques look for a connection with the objects.  Seldom do I talk with people about the worth of something I have collected.   I prefer to focus on my personal connection to the item and its place in history.  For me there is no greater thrill than to find an item that can be researched. Through research and observation I build a connection between me and a bygone era.

Unfortunately, my love of antiques has led my wife to make a keen observation on my collecting habits.  Trouble starts with the phrase “What’s that!”  If I do not know what an object is and it has a patent date, hallmark or is just unknown, I have to have it.  There is no greater thrill than deciphering the past and looking for an object’s place in history.  This has led me and my wife to amass quite a collection of stuff.

As such, I have created this site to share my connection with things I have collected.  When possible, I will include historical information, but the goal of this site is to document the fascinating aspects of my beloved piles of junk.

If you have information regarding any of the items I have listed, PLEASE email me!   (See ccontact page)

Thanks for visiting!
